1. Overview & Commitment

PDFtoolkit is designed as a productivity utility tool for viewing, editing, scanning, merging, splitting, protecting, and converting documents. We operate on a strict privacy-first principle: We do not sell, rent, monetize, or permanently retain your files or personal documents.

You can use PDFtoolkit without creating an account or providing any personal identifiers such as your name, phone number, or physical address.

2. Temporary Document Processing & Automatic Deletion

When you use cloud-assisted document operations (such as converting complex formats or merging files):

• Strictly Transient Processing: Files are securely transmitted via encrypted HTTPS (TLS 1.3) solely to perform the requested operation.
• Immediate Source Removal: Uploaded source files are removed immediately upon conversion completion.
• Automatic 48-Hour Permanent Deletion: Any generated output files are automatically purged permanently from our processing servers after 48 hours via automated system tasks.
• No Permanent Storage: No permanent archive or user vault of your files is maintained on our servers.

3. Advertising & Google AdMob

PDFtoolkit is supported by advertising to offer its core tools for free. We integrate the official Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob) operated by Google LLC.

Google AdMob may collect and process certain non-personal device information to serve relevant or non-personalized advertisements, including:

• Google Advertising ID (GAID / AAID)
• Device make, model, operating system version, and general network connection type
• Coarse location data (country/city level from IP, never precise GPS)
• Diagnostic and ad performance metrics (ad impressions, clicks)

You may reset or opt out of personalized ads at any time through your Android device settings under Settings > Google > Ads > Delete advertising ID.

4. Device Permissions

PDFtoolkit requests only the minimum necessary permissions to function:

• Camera (android.permission.CAMERA): Required solely when you choose to use the Camera Scanner feature to photograph physical paper documents. Photos are captured locally on your device and are never accessed without your direct action.
• Storage / Media: Used solely to allow you to pick files from your device and save exported documents back to your phone's storage.
• Internet & Network State: Required to communicate with the processing engine and load Google AdMob advertisements.

5. Data Security

We implement enterprise-grade security standards to safeguard your data in transit:

• All network communications utilize Secure Sockets Layer / Transport Layer Security (SSL/TLS) encryption.
• Processing environments are sandboxed and isolated per transaction.
• Automated cleanup routines prevent unauthorized data persistence.

6. Children's Privacy

PDFtoolkit is a general audience productivity application and is not directed towards children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from children.
